TRAVIS Barker amassed a $50 million fortune before even meeting fiancé Kourtney Kardashian because he’s a lot more “showbiz savvy” than fans realise, sources told The Sun.
Blink-182 drummer Travis, 46, has become a central figure in the Kardashian universe since it was revealed he was dating the celebrity clan’s eldest daughter in late 2020.
The new Hulu reality series The Kardashians is currently giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the heavily inked rocker’s seemingly unlikely romance with glam Kourtney.
Now, Hollywood insiders have revealed that Travis is more than prepared for this moment given his career and money-making skills.
He had already amassed a multi-million dollar fortune estimated at $50 million from his own music and reality TV careers and other business ventures.
And he’s more comfortable living in front of the cameras alongside Kourtney, 43, than her ex Scott Disick ever was, said a source who has interacted with the pair.
The insider told The Sun: “Travis goes into this with his eyes wide open and despite appearances this guy is a lot more showbiz savvy than people realise.
“Not only had he logged hour after hour in front of reality cameras long before he met a Kardashian, thanks to his well-remembered show Meet The Barkers.”
“He’s also an expert at managing his life away from the cameras and keeping his dignity and soul intact.
“Scott Disick never understood how to maintain that line between television and reality, but Travis lived his life according to it and made it work for himself and his company.

“It’s really a place where he and Kourtney are of the same mind.”
Travis’ amazing career has taken him from being a trashman after graduating high school to what Rolling Stone dubbed “punk’s first superstar drummer” after joining Blink-182 in 1998.
The band had already released two albums prior to his arrival, but achieved mainstream superstardom with Travis in their line-up when they released Enema of the State in 1999.
The album sold over 15 million copies worldwide and the band’s follow-up, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, was another huge hit.
The band went on to release four more albums and have sold over 50 million records worldwide, including over 13 million in the US alone.
Our insider said: “People forget that not only has his band sold millions of records, but they’ve been headlining stadiums for a good fifteen years.
“Although the Blink 182 team doesn’t like to boast about their wealth, the boys did incredibly well.
“Travis will never have to work again, Kourtney or nobody.”
Travis made sure to take advantage of the opportunities that presented themselves after the massive success of Blink-182.
As part of his music career, he has starred in numerous other punk rock and hip hop projects, including rap rock supergroup Transplants.
And when things started with Blink-182, he offered drum lessons and clinics with music retail chain Guitar Center as a side hustle.
Since then he has had endorsement deals with Drum Workshop drums, Zildjian cymbals and drumsticks, and Remo drumheads.
The California native also owned record labels LaSalle Records and DTA Records, which released a collaboration between himself and superstar rappers Lil Wayne and Rick Ross in 2019.
BEYOND THE MUSIC
Outside of music, Travis caused quite a stir when his reality show Meet The Barkers aired on MTV in 2005.
With the punk rocker, his then-wife Shanna Moakler, and their children, it took two seasons until 2006, when the couple acrimoniously split over alleged cheating.
Known for his vegan diet, Travis has also invested in dining options, including a fish taco franchise in Norco, California and upscale vegan restaurant Crossroads Kitchen in West Hollywood.
In 1999, he launched the Famous Stars and Straps line of clothing and accessories, inspired by the punk rock and hip hop subcultures.
Other business ventures in recent years have included cannabinoid-infused products Barker Wellness, a hardware line with British own brand Buster + Punch, and a collaboration with BMX brand SE Bikes.
Travis said he was inspired to start the wellness company after using CBD to treat pain, PTSD and grief after becoming one of only two passengers surviving when a private jet crashed in South Carolina in 2008.
Aside from his entrepreneurial endeavors, Travis has also been good at investing the proceeds of his ventures, pouring money into multi-million dollar properties in upscale Los Angeles neighborhoods like Cheviot Hills and Calabasas.
He is also known to have collected classic Cadillac and Chevrolet cars, some of which he later auctioned off.
‘Good-natured mature guy’
His business acumen even enabled him to propose to Kourtney an engagement ring worth up to $1 million in October last year.
The couple made headlines earlier this month when they seemingly unofficially married unlicensed in Las Vegas.
The Sun’s source said: “When this relationship started people wanted to shrug it off, but Travis’ sharp differences with Scott meant it was really going to last a while, at least for people who know Kourtney well.
“She found a guy who was 180 degrees different from her ex in every way, and not in a bad way either.
“Unlike Scott, Travis has real talent and has won fans around the world for his music.
“Unlike Scott, Travis has years under his belt as a dedicated working father and self-made multi-millionaire.
“And most importantly, Travis is a lot more humble than Scott, to the core.
“He treats Kourtney like a princess, not because he wants to look good on camera, but because he’s a naturally good-natured, mature guy.”
