Self-proclaimed lifestyle guru Kevin Samuels was happy to give relationship advice – but little is known about his own love life.
Samuels, 56, has been married twice and rumors circulated online that he was in a relationship with influencer Brittany Renner after the pair were spotted together.
The controversial YouTuber, who has been accused of misogyny, reportedly died on Thursday, according to close friends.
Samuels provided lifestyle and relationship advice through online channels.
He caused outrage on social media after saying women over 35 were “left over” if they were unmarried.
Despite online counseling, very little is known about Samuel’s personal life as he tended not to share family pictures online.
Samuels revealed in a VLAD-TV interview that he has been married twice.
He first tied the knot with his high school sweetheart, but it only lasted a year.
The exact year that Samuels married his first wife is unknown.
The couple had one child whose identity has not been released.
Samuels revealed that he was getting a divorce because “it wasn’t a good idea to even get married.”
He said, “We were high school sweethearts. Every relationship has its ups and downs.
“We were better together as friends than actually as a couple. There was a lot more in there.
“We had a great relationship. We’ve known each other since fourth grade.”
Samuels then revealed that he re-tyed the knot six to seven years later.
There were no children in the relationship, he revealed.
The influencer claimed the marriage, which lasted three years, ended because of “irreconcilable differences.”
He quipped, “There’s nothing salacious to say about it. No one enters into marriage to get divorced.”
Samuels vowed he wouldn’t “resent” his ex-wives for the breakdown in their relationships.
He said: “I’m not saying anything negative about her because there’s no reason to. I wish the people all the best.”
Samuels did not rule out the prospect of marrying for the third time.
He said: “I don’t think anyone really wants to live this life alone. We just don’t really know how to do it.”
In November 2021, Samuels and Renner were spotted together in an Instagram clip, prompting speculation about their relationship.
In the clip, Samuels showed off his luxury engine and can be heard saying, “Sure, sure doesn’t fit in.”
Renner wore a purple jumpsuit and knee-high boots.
The pair were reportedly spotted on a so-called shopping date in Atlanta, Georgia.
They apparently went to several luxury stores, and onlookers told News Nation USA at the time that Samuels took Renner on a “shopping spree.”
Twitter users rushed to social media to speculate if Samuels and Renner were dating.
One wrote: “Is Brittany Renner flirting with Kevin Samuels?”
Another commented: “Kevin Samuels hanging out with Brittany Renner?”
The pair were spotted together just months after Renner announced on her Instagram feed that it was “stepdad season.”
She said, “Hey everyone, hello. It’s officially stepdad season. Yes, what’s up? I got the car seat in the back, let’s go to the park!
“Don’t let your baby daddy or baby momma block your blessings.”
Renner is the ex-girlfriend of NBA star PJ Washington and the couple were embroiled in a child support dispute.
She is an Instagram model and former Jackson State soccer star.
She played at Jackson State University and won the 2010 SWAC championship.
The model has previously been romantically linked to several NBA stars and rappers including James Harden, Jamal Murray, Ben Simmons, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Trey Songz and Chris Brown.
There is no evidence that Renner ever had a relationship with Samuels.
Melanie King, who claims to be a close friend of Samuels, said she received family confirmation that he had died.
She told music star FC The Truth, “That’s 100 percent true.”
Samuels’ family or team is yet to publicly announce the Georgia star’s death.
No statement was uploaded on social media confirming his death.
Unconfirmed reports circulating on social media claim the star went into cardiac arrest, but these have not been confirmed.
But fans paid tribute to the consultant and influencer as rumors swirled online.
Influencer Sabrina Paterson said, “Prayer I pray this isn’t true.”
American TV personality Phaedra Parks posted two praying emojis next to a love heart.
Canadian YouTuber LaToya Forever said, “No, just no.”
And singer-songwriter Sy Ari da Kid wrote: “Nah OG don’t leave this anytime soon bro. Keep killing.”
Samuels’ last post on Instagram was a 94-minute clip titled “Modern Women are a Party of One,” which he shared on Wednesday.
The video was the last clip to be uploaded to his YouTube page.
His Facebook profile has not been updated since Tuesday.
