In 1883, Gratiela Brancusi admitted why her love scenes were so difficult to film

Gratiela Brancusi recently spoke with Country flavor about her experience in “1883”, especially about Noemi and Thomas’ night together. As she recalls, when they first arrived on set, it was quite warm, but this didn’t last. “40 minutes later, it’s all gone, and I’m sorry for speaking so soon,” she said, and sadly for her, the temperature was just the beginning of her problems. The early wind picked up, causing the crew to scramble to keep the tent from blowing away. Undaunted by strong winds and out-of-frame struggles, Brancusi kept the scene alive.

“I gave up on the dress. I just kept going. I was like, ‘I’m not sacrificing this… we’ve come this far, we’re doing this,'” she told Taste. of Country, noting that even when the weather isn’t against them, she’s still apprehensive about the big picture. Standing naked in front of a crowd is a daunting task, even for an experienced actor. Thankfully, the cast and crew made sure Brancusi was as comfortable as possible. “It was really the scene where I felt the most comfortable… because of how caring and protective everyone was there. It was a generous experience.”

Four episodes remain in “1883” Season 1, giving Noemi and Thomas more time to blossom. Hopefully, in doing so, Gratiela Brancusi doesn’t have to go through the uncomfortable scenes she did in episode 6.
