Important update on the mysterious death of a 19-year-old student who was found shot dead on the side of the road after 12 years after ‘new evidence’

A couple have been arrested for murder as new evidence has reportedly emerged – 12 years after a college student was found dead by the side of the road.

Argentine immigrant Deutscher “Luis” Clerici, 19, was reported missing on February 1, 2010 before a woman found his body days later in rural Kansas.

Cops believe Clerici was killed before his body was disposed of.

More than a decade later, cops arrested Kristopher and Candace Valadez, 32, for murder.

Butler County Sheriff Monty Hughey revealed officers uncovered new evidence but did not share its contents, The Daily Beast reported.

Police records show they were arrested in Greenville County, South Carolina last month and are being extradited to Kansas.

Clerici’s friend Shauna McKee reportedly posted online that she knew the pair from their days at a KwikTrip gas station.

A company employee told the Daily Beast that Candace is a division manager.

You haven’t revealed how long she’s been with the company.

Cops found Clerici’s body on a dirt road on February 6, 2010.

He was last seen on January 29 and his phone was left unused after January 30.

Police said his shoes were clean and his wallet was still in his pocket, the Wichita Eagle reported.

Cops said it meant they could rule out a robbery gone wrong as they tried to determine the motive for the murder.

Police don’t know why Clerici was targeted.

McKee told the Wichita Eagle at the time that she and Clerici were moving into a new home.

She said: “I have no idea what happened. This is a complete and utter shock to me – to everyone.”

Officials found Clerici’s car about four months after finding his body, The State revealed.

Lacey Rowe, who worked at the college where Clerici studied, said he was “always a gentleman.”

She said he’s ambitious and has an “urge to do well.”
