The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the coroner’s office determined his cause of death to be homicide from multiple stab wounds to his neck and back.
Based on the condition of the body, police believe the man has been dead for several weeks.
“The body was so badly decomposed they don’t know who it is,” a police source told the New York Post.
The NYPD told The Sun, “There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing at this time.”

SECRET AT CITI FIELD
Just days before the man’s body was found, the remains of an unidentified woman were reportedly discovered in an abandoned car near the Mets’ Citi Field.
NYPD officers from the 110th Precinct found the woman’s body in a white Honda Monday night, according to QNS.
Police officers found the unidentified woman in Willets Point, Queens, in the back seat of the car with license plates missing around 10:20 p.m.
Police sources told the New York Post the woman was found unconscious and unresponsive in the vehicle.
The car was parked at 127th Street and 35th Avenue.
Officials said the car’s location was within walking distance of the popular ballpark at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.
No signs of trauma were found on the woman’s body, police said.
The investigation into the cause of death of the woman is ongoing.
The area where the car was located is known as the Iron Triangle, which is under construction, QNS explains.
