Important update after the 15-year-old boy was shot dead at his family’s home as he went outside to fetch water

TWO teenagers face murder charges in a chilling update about the death of a 15-year-old boy who was killed while fetching water from a car outside his home.
The Philadelphia Attorney’s Office announced charges against Daniel Gardee and Saahir Teagle, both 17, for the murder of Sean Toomey.

The prosecutor’s office said Gardee turned himself in Wednesday while Teagle was taken into custody in New Jersey and is being sent back to Philadelphia.
According to police, Toomey had left his home on March 24 to get a case of water from his family’s car when he was shot at.
The teenager was taken to a local hospital, where he died hours later.
“I heard the pops and thought they were firecrackers,” Toomey’s father, John Toomey, told Action News.

“But it only takes a second to get some water and go inside and he didn’t come back. So I got curious. I put on my sweatshirt and went outside and saw him lying on my neighbor’s lawn. “
Gardee and Teagle are believed to have participated in an attempted armed robbery of a woman at an ATM and a theft car shortly before Toomey was shot.
Gardee was arrested less than a week after the crime on charges of assault and disturbance of the peace in Miami Beach, the prosecutor’s office said.
The two teenagers were taken into custody at an Airbnb in April, where police allegedly found several firearms. Teagle was charged with illegal firearm possession, prosecutors said.
Gardee and Teagle were not originally identified as suspects in Toomey’s murder when they were arrested earlier, the prosecutor’s office said.
A suspect in a car theft on June 9 told police he and two others tried to rob a woman at an ATM, leading authorities to the couple.
Less than a week later, the prosecutor’s office was able to approve the charges against her.
“Sean Toomey was a kid full of promise and hope, like all kids. The great potential he had was wiped out in the blink of an eye by strangers with guns,” District Attorney Larry Krasner said.
“Sean Toomey should be alive today and looking forward to the rest of his life.”
However, news of the charges against Gardee and Teagle comes as John Toomey said Krasner was “guilty” of his son’s murder.
He and other families of gun violence victims in Philadelphia are calling for Krasner’s impeachment, claiming that Krasner’s job isn’t to act as a defense attorney and advocate for criminals — but rather to prosecute them.

“I say we sue that son of Ab****!” he told a crowd on Tuesday.
A statement from Krasner said: “We do not wish to recognize the exploitation of people who have lost loved ones to violent crime.”
