The Iphone features that protect your online activity from internet providers and other websites.

It works like a VPN service to prevent companies, such as Facebook or certain retail websites, from tracking you online.

Your IP address will be hidden and any activity on Safari will be masked.

This is very important, especially if you are using public WiFi which can be unsafe.

So, if you’ve ever used WiFi in an airport, coffee shop or hotel, you’ll definitely want to turn on Private Relay.

How to activate iPhone Private Relay

You’ll need to make sure your device is updated to iOS 15, iPadOS 15, or macOS.

First, make sure you’ve updated to the latest iOS version.

To do this, go to Settings > General > Software Update and make sure you’re using iOS 15 or later.

If an update is available, you should install it immediately.

Once you’ve installed the relevant software, Private Relay is pretty easy to set up.

On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Private Forwarding and then turn on Private Forwarding.

On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud and then click the Private Forwarding box.

Private Relay gives you the opportunity to choose the location of your IP address.

You can select a general location or a broader location, such as a country.

That means any site that tracks you for advertising purposes can see where you are in general but nothing specific.

The greater your anonymity, the less accurate the online content you display may be.

Private forwarding separates any identifying IP address information and gives you a more general online identity.

It can only be used with Safari and cannot be used for common VPN activities like trying to stream Netflix content from another country.

It is also not available in some countries where such activities are prohibited by law.

These countries include China, Belarus, Colombia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkmenistan, Uganda and the Philippines.
