So Fury – who insists he will give up traditional boxing after defending his WBC title against Dillian Whyte on April 23 – has promised him a good payday and a good hideout.
He’s ready to climb into Ngannou’s cage and wear tiny 4-ounce MMA gloves for next year’s crossover showdown in Las Vegas.
The undefeated 6ft 9in Morecambe ace said: “I hear he’s got some beef with the UFC so he’s sitting out the season.
“His time will come to make a lot of money and I will offer him a big purse, of course I will.
“By then I will have retired from competitive championship boxing. I won’t be the WBC champion and he won’t be the UFC champion.
“I’ll be ready for the crossover fights.

“Ngannou is a much grittier version of Deontay Wilder and we all know what happened there.
“A boxing ring is my home, it would be like fighting a shark in the ocean, so I have to get out of my comfort zone to give it a chance.”
After completing his trilogy with Wilder, Fury – who was set to earn £25m from his Whyte fight – said: “I cherish every purse I’ve ever gotten because it wasn’t always 20m or 30m. This is mega money.”
