An 80-year-old bodybuilder has revealed the secrets to his successful career after celebrating multiple international titles and one of the world’s most memorable physiques.

After celebrating a form that even impressed Arnold Schwarzenegger, Zane has begun opening up about how he’s earned some of the most coveted bodybuilding titles throughout his career.
The Midwestern native of Pennsylvania said he felt “something was missing” growing up in a small town, which prompted him to hit the gym out of curiosity.
“I saw immediate progress,” he said in a recent interview.
It’s clear that Zane had a genetic predisposition to the sport, as the man had quickly built muscle in his formative teens before starting competing at 18.

“My dad had a good structure for it, even though he never did bodybuilding,” Zane said.
“But he had good foundation, good physique and I think I inherited that from him.”
The budding legend decided to enter his first competition when he was 18, which inspired him to train extra hard and really push himself.
Zane later competed in Teenage Mr America and placed third. This win cemented his passion for the sport and sparked the beginning of a lifelong dedication to fitness.
“I was very happy with my first trophy in bodybuilding,” he said.
He told the story of a pro who approached him at the time and said that if he had Zane’s character, he would never wear a shirt again.
“That was very inspiring for me,” said the 80-year-old professional.
Zane was celebrated for his incredibly symmetrical physique.
When asked how he achieved such an impressive figure, he said he often studied photos of his ideal.
In fact, he focused his training on how others perceived his body, making him a strong competitor on shows.
While Zane certainly looks like he was made for the sport, he still put in a lot of work to reach his peak.
Although he invested heavily in his workouts and diet, he really credits his success to the mindset he was able to adopt.
“I just wanted to be the best,” he said.
“And I knew it would take time and I was willing to put in the time.”
At 80, Zane has transitioned to helping others in their bodybuilding journey.
He’s shared tons of great muscle building tips, including a crucial technique that allowed him to maintain his fitness decades after winning international titles.
Unsurprisingly, his workout routine is indistinguishable from his prime, but he still looks very impressive for his advanced age.

His Instagram is designed to engage the masses, including fellow octogenarians.
“The way you see yourself in the mirror is a product of your belief system. You see what you expect to see,” he said on his Instagram.
