I’m a Walmart shopper – their checkout has two high-tech skills that should deter anyone from ever stealing

A TIKTOKER has revealed two high-tech features that Walmart is reportedly using on its self-checkout — and they might surprise you.
TikToker @ashthetruth21’s video about Walmart’s anti-theft measures has garnered a lot of attention online.

“I was subpoenaed,” the content creator, who often rails against Walmart, said in her video.
The beginning of the clip shows another person taking pictures inside a store that says “Walmart New Self Checkout Machine.”
The video then jumps to @ashthetruth21, who says, “So you see those little machines right there?
“Every time you scan something, photos are taken of you, my friend.

“And let me just tell you, every time you run your card through a Walmart scanner, they have a note of it.
“They can find you by your credit card,” she claims.
She further claimed that the cameras not only take photos of your face, but also of the card you are paying with.
“Then they hold it and save it as a file,” she claimed.
“Any purchase you make that’s linked to a card, they can pull the date and time information and pull the camera footage.
“And see what you bought when you bought it, and blah blah blah.
“These cameras can read your wallet — and they do,” she claimed.
She captioned her video with a stern warning to anyone considering stealing from Walmart stores: “Build boxes for $500 each.
“So people suddenly get notifications that they stole something and never spoke to anyone.”
While the scope of information captured by self-checkout cameras is unclear, it’s no secret that Walmart cracks down on theft.
Shoplifting is a major problem and reports of self-checkout theft have become increasingly common in recent years.
Some commenters on the video seemed surprised by the claims, while others were not particularly sympathetic to Walmart’s case.
One person said, “That can see through my what?!” in all capital letters.
Another said: “Then why do they make returns so difficult lol.”
A third person didn’t seem bothered by the information and said: “Yes, when I swipe my card in store, my purchase shows up on my Walmart app.

“The app knows when you enter the store.”
The US Sun has reached out to Walmart for comment on new self-checkout technology and TikToker’s claims.
