I’m a victim of bad cop David Carrick and I’m hoping he rots in prison – but an important part of the case caught my eye during the trial

A WOMAN who was abused by David Carrick for four years has told The Sun she hopes the sadistic cop “rotts behind bars”.
The victim, who watched via a video link as the ailing cop was sentenced to life in prison yesterday, said “the Met has a lot to answer for” after missing nine opportunities to stop him.

She said: “He deserves to die in prison. He will rot behind bars. What he did to all of us was disgusting.
“As they read the impact statements, I realized how similar all of our stories were. He’s a bad, bad monster. He could have killed any of us.
“We thought he would get 15 years. When she said 30 we were shocked and delighted. I hope he never comes out.”
On how the monster changed her life, she said, “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to be in a relationship again. He completely ruined that for me.
“I will never trust a man again, even if it’s a good man. How can I ever know that he won’t hurt me?
“The Met has a lot to answer for and they need to step up. The police that I worked with were very good and I am grateful to them.
“But the Met let him stay with the police force for so many years and they knew it. More will come out and this is not the end.”
She first met Carrick through a dating app in 2017 and he asked if she would come over and clean for him once a week since she had worked as a professional cleaner.
The woman, whose victim statement was read in court on Monday, watched the sentencing with a group of other victims via video link.
For years the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, thought she was the only one who raped and tortured Carrick, 48.
Too scared to tell anyone what was happening, she only felt safe to report her hell after news of his arrest broke and she saw his face on TV in October 2021.
Sadistic Carrick was stolen after another female victim bravely reported him to the police.
She said: “If it weren’t for that first woman, we wouldn’t have come forward, none of us. He would still work for the Met and I would still have gone to his house. I thanked her personally and said well done that she got in touch. We owe her a lot.”
Upon hearing that Carrick showed no emotion during the sentencing hearing, she said: “I wanted to see his face to see what he was like. The fact that he hasn’t moved shows he just doesn’t care.”
Her victim’s testimony was read in court by District Attorney Tom Little KC.
She said: “I don’t think I could have done it in person – I would have been too upset to see him in person.
“I was very upset and cried during the sentencing. It was really emotional. I had to put a handkerchief over my face.

“It still feels like I’m in a dream or something. I’ve known him for a long time and now he’s behind bars.”
Carrick was sentenced Tuesday, February 7, to 30 years in prison for raping and sexually assaulting a dozen women over a 17-year period.
