Although the new Prince of Wales is now next in line to the throne – a job that comes with heavy responsibilities – his first priority will still be his young family.

Fortunately, the royal couple were unaware that just over 24 hours later, as they took their children to Lambrook School near Windsor for the new school year on Wednesday, the Queen would be dead.

First in line to the throne, William is now Prince of Wales and Catherine is a princess.

What kind of Prince of Wales is William likely to be?

It’s a job his father had for 70 years, but with the best will in the world, William will only be a short tenure as heir apparent.

William knows the clock is ticking. His father is 73 years old and his reign could last 15 years or more, but it doesn’t have to.

He must be ready to take the throne.

Despite this, he will continue to take care of the children. Putting his family first has always been William’s motto.

He made arrangements with the late Queen and with his father that he would always be there for his children in their formative years.

He knows he’ll be working harder because his brother Harry left ship, but he’ll still be there for the school run.

And despite the calls for his time off royal duties, he’ll still do those family things.

William is concerned about anything to be detrimental to Harry and Meghan, not for themselves but for the monarchy, knowing that whatever is said will be a historic moment.

That’s why Harry’s book is so harmful. It comes straight from an insider. Every word will be responsible.

Even if William disagrees with their version of the truth, the royal family is unable to respond.

And so, with this strong We Five family message, they will counter it and set the moral tone of the monarchy going forward.

In the past, Charles was closer to Harry than William, but the crises surrounding Megxit and Prince Andrew have brought William and Charles closer in ways they never imagined.

There will be no joint rule. Now that his father is king, William must show him a little more deference than he is used to.

After the Queen’s death, there will be a movement of real estate.

Charles will stay at Windsor Castle and use his favorite home, Sandringham. He will also live above the Buckingham Palace shop when it is refurbished.

William and Catherine have just moved into Adelaide Cottage and want to be close to Windsor Castle and their children’s school.

So you can swap with Prince Andrew who is currently living at Royal Lodge.

Andrew was always guaranteed to have the Royal Lodge as long as the Queen lived.

But it could change now because there is a new dynamic and William doesn’t have time for his uncle.

Now a new era begins for William. But since he’s doing it his way, family will, as always, be at the forefront of his actions
