A REAL MADRID fan reported on one hell of a Champions League final saying: ‘It’s a miracle I’m alive’.
Madridista Paco Martinez Marin was attacked by the infamous French ‘Saint-Denis’ thugs and has shared his story with fanforum La Galerna.
He said: “I never thought I would fear for our lives. Yes, I was really scared and thanks to my son I can tell you about it today.
“Without exaggeration…it saved my life.
“A lot of people walked together when we left the stadium. Happy. Our team won.
“But fate was that we encountered a group of criminals armed with knives who attacked us mercilessly, made us fall to the ground and then robbed us.
“Some put the cutter around their necks and asked for their cell phones.”
“The worst thing was his attitude, that of the French police, who never helped us.
“Neither we nor so many people who have asked for help. I asked for an ambulance please because of the wounds I had, I was bleeding.
“A guard said to people asking for help: ‘Welcome to France…’.
“People didn’t know where to go, it was chaos.
“A French citizen passing by saw his wounds, got out of his car and said to me, ‘To the hospital!’
“I went with him and yes he took me to the next where I spent the night among priests watching the hit on the head.
“I cried, yes, but not because of the aggression, but because of anger, because of the lack of help from the police for some of the injured. That is a crime.”
A security guard said to those seeking help: “Welcome to France…”
The most elite game in European football was marred by crowd troubles that saw thousands of Liverpool fans stranded outside the Stade de France, causing kick-off to be delayed by more than half an hour.
The Reds fans who peacefully tried to enter the stadium were also tear gassed by the French police.
And CEO Billy Hogan admitted he was “completely in disbelief” after French ministers blamed Liverpool fans for the off-ground scenes.
Chiefs also claimed it had been NO PROBLEM in the Real Madrid end of the floor.
But Real released a statement confirming that their fans were indeed “assaulted and robbed” outside the stadium – as confirmed by Paco’s account.
Investigations into the organization and monitoring of the event are ongoing.
