Pharmaceutical giants were keen to capitalize on the desperation of drinkers to get rid of the hangover as well.

A new pill has hit the market that claims to end your self-inflicted struggle, leaving you feeling refreshed the next day.

Myrkl is a new pre-drink supplement that claims to prevent hangovers.

Participants in a clinical study who drank two glasses of wine and took the supplement before drinking had an average of 50 percent less alcohol in their blood after 30 minutes.

After 60 minutes, they were down 70 percent, significantly reducing alcohol’s effects on the body.

dr Deborah Lee from Dr. However, Fox Online Pharmacy told The Sun it was “less of a cure for a hangover and more of a cure for stopping you from getting drunk in the first place”.
