TikTok creator @roominbloomnyc documented her journey in creating a makeup mirror chia pet on the social media app.
In two videos, she shared with her followers how she made the chia blend and then updated viewers on her progress.
In her first TikTok on the topic, Kaitlin showed what chia blend she uses and how she applied the blend to her vanity.
Chia seeds similar to the ones she used are about $10 at Walmart.

She added water to the mix to create the desired texture she needed.
Kaitlin then applied the mixture around her vanity, informing viewers she would let it dry before continuing with her project.
She explained that her inspiration for “Chia Mirror” came from seeing other creators embark on similar projects.
In her second video, she gave viewers an update on the progress of her DIY project.
She recorded the growth of the chia seeds over the following days.
“This has grown so quickly,” the creator said during the video.
She noted that she ran into a problem when some of the chia seeds germinated, but documented how she solved this problem by adding a new seed mix.
Viewers of the video loved the project and frequently asked Kaitlin to update them on her progress.
“Why was this only posted 50 minutes ago I need updates now,” said one user.
“Thanks for this content,” said another user.
Fans of the video also gave Kaitlin tips on caring for the chia seeds when she noticed the sprouts dried out quickly.

One person said to “turn off the light” so the water doesn’t dry up too quickly.
Kaitlin responded to that comment, saying that the person was “so smart” for her suggestion.
