“We have to bulk buy a lot of items like bread, and raw meat including chicken and beef, as we tend to go shopping every two weeks, so everything is stored for two weeks. my fridge freezer and two pantries.

“Roast dinners and slow cooker meals always go a long way and are some of the cheapest budget meals to make.

“Or we’ll go out to eat out every month for around £80 for all of us, but we don’t tend to put that in the budget.”

Claire finds some of the best bargains by searching for discounted food items that can be frozen, as well as shopping at the budget supermarket Aldi.

Not only is Claire frugal with her shopping habits, but she’s also sticking to a tight holiday budget, and planning outings as cheaply as possible.
