According to the International Energy Agency, the United States is one of the leading players, along with China and the European Union, where most electric car sales are made.

But David Long, known as the “Car Wizard,” revealed in a YouTube clip that he likes electric vehicles, but warned that drivers should be concerned if their battery health is below 50 percent.

He advised motorists to look elsewhere when they encounter an EV with poor battery health.

According to the American Automobile Association, an electric vehicle loses about 12 percent of its range in temperatures of 21 degrees versus 73 degrees.

When an electric car’s battery is having a hard time holding its charge, it means it needs to be plugged in more often.

Experts assume that the ideal state of charge is between 20 and 80 percent.

Road users are also advised not to charge their battery to 100 percent unless they are on a longer journey.

If possible, drivers should park their electric car in a shady place and protect it from high temperatures.

Using a fast charging station can also affect the health of an electric car’s battery.

This is because it generates a significant amount of heat and puts a strain on the battery.

Car experts say that fast-charging stations should be used sparingly by drivers.
