“I have always shown a lot of pride in my work,” she explains.
“I’m not really the light-cleaner type, I like deep cleaning.
“I love the little details, I love what I do, I love my job as a housekeeper.”
Here are her top tips…
Don’t forget the places you missed
Vanessa said: “I will tell you one place that can be overlooked when cleaning your house, it is the handrail, the light switch, the doorknob, anything that is touched frequently.”
She uses natural cleaners and microfiber fabrics to make them look as good as new.
Hygienists recommend cleaning these forgotten spots at least once a week.
Do not cover the dust around the items
Vanessa said she pet is when the housekeeper doesn’t pick up the dust when dusting and just wipes the surroundings with a cloth,
“You create more work for yourself, and you also build a bad reputation,” she said.
She added: “I noticed it when I was trying to cut corners. I end up working twice.”
Clean from top to bottom
Have you ever been overwhelmed with not knowing where to start when tackling a room?
Vanessa said: “Always start from scratch and work your way up when cleaning.”
She showed herself to cleaning the kitchen cabinets and then the counter, before ending up on the floor.
Use rubber seal on toilet roll
Cleaning the toilet isn’t the most fun job in the world, but Vanesa has a top tip to transform a space in seconds.
She showed the way she uses rubber stamps to leave a sweet design on the scroll.
Vanesa explains: “Flip two triangles on your toilet paper then get some water, grab your stamp and stick it on your toilet paper and you are good to go.”
Remove the toilet seat to clean
Vanesa also points out how many people cut corners when they scrubbed their toilets by not removing the seat.
She advises you should remove the entire seat and then clean underneath the coupling.
The cleaning expert also showed her how to clean the hinges before reinstalling the seat back into the toilet.
