A hotel cleaner shared what she wishes guests would do to make her life easier.

Lykke Marie Rosenberg went to the Q&A site Quora to provide guests with tips for their next stay at their hotel.

“I am a hotel housekeeper now, and here are some of the things I wish guests would do,” she wrote.

“Clean your room while you’re in it. Once inside, don’t leave your clothes, trash and inconvenient things on the hotel room floor or on the bed.

“I understand you’re a guest and you can’t wait to get out, but you brought a suitcase with you, so use that. Ask yourself – do I really want people Does the housekeeper have to touch my used panties to make the bed?

“And don’t complain about the floors not being vacuumed when sometimes I can’t clean because of your mess.”

She continued, “Please respect sign in/Payment procedures. You have no idea the stress and fatigue of waiting for a room to leave, so I’m making a schedule.

“If you’re checking out late, let the front desk know in advance so I know too.

“And leave your room at least a few hours a day so I can clean them. Don’t complain about the room being clean, the lack of toilet paper, no fresh towels when you’re in the room all day..

“I knock on the door and you tell me you don’t need to clean your room – that’s fine with yourself, man.

“Oh yes, and don’t be mean to me if I knock on your door and find you there. Some people get upset but that’s just my job.”

Lykke’s final request is for guests to throw their trash away.

She simply wrote: “Put your trash in the trash.”

While it may seem simple to take out the trash and be polite to the staff, a former hotel cleaner has higher expectations for guests.

They say that if you don’t empty the trash, remove the sheets or empty your water bottle, you are a bad hotel.
