A FLIGHT flight attendant has revealed why you should never use seat bags on a plane – and it’s pretty disgusting.
The crew warned that they often found rudimentary items in them, including underpants and toenails.
The flight attendant, whose name is HausOfDarling on Reddit, said they saw everything under the sun squeezed into those bags.
They said: “Never, ever, use or put anything in the seat pocket. They are cleaned up but never ‘cleaned’. “
They continued: “I pulled out and saw all sorts of draw from it.
“Dirty tissues, medical bags, underwear, socks, fingernails and toenails, chewing gum, halves of gum, apple cores, human feet…
“I have never found a severed foot but people seem to curl up into a fetal position by putting their feet in a chair pocket.
“And then the next flight you take and put your phone/laptop/iPad in it.”
So it’s important to avoid getting anything inside the back seat pocket, and possibly avoiding flipping through the in-flight magazines stored in them.
In addition, flight attendants also recommend bringing antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer to clean the area around your seat.
They say: “If you are flying short, bring wipes or antibody wipes.
“Many airlines will have cabin crew ‘turn around’ the plane, which means they pick up your trash, fasten your seat belt, stuff your magazines in the seat pocket and then greet the new passenger.
“I have not counted the number of times I have to tell people how disgusting it is to change their baby on the tray table or in the chair.”
