The technique was shared on TikTok by fitness expert Justin Augustin, who has called it “mind activity”.

“This technique was developed in the military to allow soldiers to sleep anytime, anywhere, even on the battlefield when the environment is extremely uncomfortable and there is a lot of noise – sleep,” he explains. for a soldier is very important.

“According to my research, this was developed primarily for fighter pilots, who need 100% of their reflexes and focus, which we all know is reduced with a lack of sleep.”

To start, take a deep breath and begin to relax each part of your body – from head to toe.

“Start by relaxing the muscles in your forehead,” explains Justin.

“Relax your eyes, cheeks, jaw and focus on your breathing. Now, go down to your neck and shoulders.

“Make sure your shoulders aren’t stretched. Drop as low as you can and let your arms hang by your side, including your hands and fingers.”

While doing this move, imagine a warm feeling going from your head to your fingertips, before going from your heart to your toes.

Now, take a deep breath and slowly exhale, relaxing your chest, abdomen, thighs, knees, legs and feet.

In the process of performing this technique, it is important that you try to remove thoughts and/or stress from your mind.

To do this, think of two situations.

MILITARY TECHNOLOGY TO SLEEP IN 2 MINUTES

  1. Lie down and take a deep breath
  2. Go through your body, relaxing each part independently
  3. Imagine a feeling of warmth spreading throughout your body
  4. Focus on your breath
  5. De-stress your mind by thinking of two situations – you’re canoeing on a calm lake, and you’re lying in a black velvet hammock in a pitch-black room.
  6. If you become distracted, say “Don’t think, don’t think, don’t think” for 10 seconds
  7. Practice this technique every night for six weeks

“One – you’re lying in a canoe on a calm lake with nothing but clear blue skies above you,” Justin said.

“Two – you’re lying in a black velvet hammock in a pitch-black room.”

And, if you ever feel like you’re getting distracted, repeat “Don’t think, don’t think, don’t think” for 10 seconds.

“You have to practice every night for six weeks,” he concluded.

“Apparently, 96% of those who mastered this technique were actually able to fall asleep within two minutes of closing their eyes.”

Among those who commented on the post were those who were quick to declare that this technique really works.

“I’m a military kid and was taught this,” one woman wrote. “I also have a veteran college psychology teacher who taught this. It certainly worked.”

“My doctor taught me this technique with slight variations when I had insomnia due to PTSD,” another added. “Trust me it works 100% once you take it down.”
