Dine Brands Global, which owns both Applebee’s and IHOP, said sales at both chains were up about 6% to 8% among households earning over $75,000.

According to Peyton, “This suggests to us that guests who often dine at more expensive restaurants may find Applebee’s and IHOP because of their well-known value position,” CNN reported.

The CEO said this phenomenon allows them “to perform well in tough times like these.”

He added that the two casual family restaurants did well during the 2008 financial crisis.

While Applebee’s and IHOP have both increased their menu prices, they’ve kept the business going through other savings opportunities.

“Both of our brands are positioned in a value-oriented manner,” said the CEO.

The restaurants promise to offer “delicious food (and) generous portions in a wonderful setting at an affordable and affordable price,” Peyton said during an analyst call.

“In economically difficult times like these for our guests, our brands have special know-how” to keep the restaurants relevant.

While it can be difficult to find direct discounts at Applebee’s, the restaurant chain has super-cheap add-ons.

If you order a steak, you can add a dozen shrimp on the side for just a dollar, CNN reported.

You can also occasionally get some free stuff.

Earlier this year, Applebee customers who spent $25 or more at the restaurant got free movie tickets to see Top Gun.

Meanwhile, IHOP has a great promotion that starts every day at 3:00 p.m.

Customers can save tons of money by getting discounted entrees at participating stores during IHOPPY Hour.

During this promotional period, appetizers, snacks and sides will be sold at lower than usual prices.

IHOP also has some great seasonal deals like Applebee’s, including a limited time promotion where kids eat free.
