As inflation forces consumers to tighten their wallets, low-cost retailers are becoming increasingly popular.
Dollar General, for example, said it posted a 4.4 percent increase in first-quarter sales, according to the company’s May earnings report.
Not only does the store offer low prices on everything from groceries to home accessories, but shoppers can use coupons to further reduce costs.
As one TikTok user pointed out, clipping coupons from Dollar General’s app can save you more than 60 percent at checkout.
Kayla Caldwell, who goes by the name kaylafilecaldwell on TikTok, recently posted a video showing a $16.51 general haul that she only paid $4.71 for.
At that price, she paid less than $1 each for the six personal care items she picked up.
Kayla used the following coupons she found through Dollar General’s app:
- $1 off Crest or Scope Mouthwash
- $4 off any BIC razor
- $2.50 off a Glade plug-in
- $2 off any tube of Colgate Toothpaste
- $1.25 off Snuggle Laundry Detergent, Sheets, or Boosters
- $2.30 off Febreze products
The store typically offers coupons by brand, giving you flexibility on which products to purchase when using coupons to determine what lands on your shopping list.
For example, the BIC coupon could have been valid for 34 products at Kayla’s Dollar General.
However, all Kayla clipped coupons are available for a limited time only.
For example, Glade’s $2.50 coupon expires on August 6th.
The Snuggle, Crest and Colgate deals are valid until August 13th, the BIC deal ends two days later and the Febreze coupon expires on August 27th.
