A BUYER shared a PSA when he made a disturbing discovery about a product he bought at Costco.

the clip Written by @todayyearsoldig has garnered a lot of attention as it has received more than 5 million views from people on the site apartment troubled by what the person shared.

The tweet accompanying the video read, “New fear unleashed.”

It showed someone holding a single date with their fingers and when they squeezed the fruit with their thumb, black dust shot out from inside.

The on-screen caption above the clip read, “Always cut your dates inside out to see if there’s mold inside!”

“We just bought these dates from Costco and they all have mold,” the text continues.

To convey to viewers their dilemma with the dates they were said to have received from the popular retailer, they folded the small fruit and applied pressure, causing an even darker cloud to spurt out of the date.

More than 20,000 Twitter users liked the tweet.

“Only buy whole dates,” someone advised.

“Don’t buy pitted dates. The inside of the dates can be contaminated when removing the pit.”

“There are a lot of things I like to buy at Costco,” another person replied to the video.

“But I’ve found that most of the time it’s not a good place to buy fruit.”

They added, “Lemons and limes are fine because they have a shelf life, but everything else and that’s a bit of a gamble.”

“Same with Whole Foods dates last month,” admitted one Twitter user.

They went on to say, “They’re probably from the same manufacturer. I was excited.”

Costco did not immediately respond to The US Sun’s request for comment.
