Matt’s Shop (@mattsshop) posted the informative video in June.

“Here’s the cheat code – insert the key, turn, step on the accelerator three times […]” explained the creator of the content.

He turned the key halfway so the ignition wasn’t on as he hit the gas pedal three times.

The mechanic then showed the truck’s dashboard. A flashing light is displayed in the top left: “Change engine oil”.

If you’re looking for more clever car tricks, a used car salesman showed his TikTok viewers how to program a cheap key fob replacement.

Alex Albright (@alexanderalbrighttt) posted a video showing how to program a key fob for 1995-2008 Ford vehicles.

The TikToker said he bought a two-pack of the keychains from Amazon for just $10.

“I’ll show you how to program them into your truck in under a minute,” Alex said.

He explained: “They want to get into the vehicle, take the key and put it in the ignition.”

Alex urged his viewers to check that the vehicle is unlocked before beginning to program the key.

“Now we take the key. We do it eight times,” he said.

“The eighth time we leave the ignition on,” added Alex.

Alex was then shown turning the car on and off multiple times.

Then the truck beeped repeatedly and Alex said, “You hear that. We’re in programming mode.”

Then Alex pressed the unlock button on the key fob.

There is one important step in this process that you should be aware of.

If you want to program both fobs, you need to take the second fob and press the unlock button right after programming the first key.

“To exit programming mode, simply turn off the vehicle. Now it can start.”
