I’m a car expert – my five ‘sizzling’ tips to cooling your car fast, including ‘weird’ trick that really works

When summer is in full swing, that means getting in a car filled with hot air.

Vanarama (@vanaramauk) is a UK based car leasing company with nearly 9,000 followers and over 100,000 likes.

In addition to videos with tutorials explaining how to change your motor oil and how car leasing works, the company also shared what to do if it’s muggy inside your car.

When you first get into the car, Vanarama tells you to repeatedly open and close the clasp like a fan.

He said the tech is “really weird” but it works if you “can live with the embarrassment” as he can feel the hot air escaping from his car.

Tip number two should be used immediately after the fan technique.

As soon as you’ve banished the hot air from the car, you should immediately turn the air conditioning on to the lowest setting, according to Vanarama.

Another tip was to make sure the bottom fans are on to ensure the cold air pushes the hot air up and out of your car.

After setting up the air conditioning, the next logical step, according to TikToker, is to open all the windows of the car.

Once you are happy with the coolness in your car, the final tip is to turn on the air recirculation button.

This way, the cold air is constantly being filtered through your car instead of sucking in hot air.

Viewers took to the comments to question the authority of the video.

Some said there were easier ways to cool down the car.

“It’s easier to precondition the car via the app,” one comment said.

“Why is it counterproductive to turn on the air conditioning and open the windows?” asked another commenter.

And another commenter said it’s not worth any of the tips if your car is black.

“If you have a black car, forget it,” read the comment.
