SURPRISE Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell are blessed by the Pope – showing their almighty relationship.
Snapshot shows billionaire paedo and his alleged “mistress” having a private audience with the head of the Catholic Church at Vatican.
They are said to have flown to Rome by private jet to be blessed by John Paul II nearly two decades ago.
A source told The Sun On Sunday: “Photos like these show how strong Epstein’s connections are and his ability to open almost any door.
“He managed to infiltrate the royal palaces, the White House and the Vatican, all with Maxwell at his side.”
Our photo shows Epstein, wearing a dark suit and red patterned tie, kneeling at the feet of the Pope with his ex Maxwell, who was wearing a striped jacket and open-collared blue shirt.
Hands clasped, they are smiling and looking into the eyes of Pope John Paul II, who led the Catholic Church from 1978 until his death in 2005.
The Pope is sitting He raises his arm in the photo, which is believed to have been taken in 2003.
Flight logs, which chart the journey made by sex monster Epstein, reveal that he used “Lolita Express” jet flew from Rome to Madrid on May 20 of that year.
On it was Maxwell, the model instructor Jean-Luc Brunel, pilot Pete Rathgeb and two passengers logged in as “AM” and “JK”.
Frenchman Brunel, 75 years old, was last year charged with the rape and sexual assault of a minor.
There is no suggestion that Rathgeb knew or was involved in illegal activity.
There is no record of Epstein arriving in Rome, although records take him to New York on May 12 and again on May 21.
Our photo of the pope is the latest to show Epstein and Maxwell standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the world’s most powerful figures.
Photos in New York’s Central Park show Epstein with Prince Andrew – while Maxwell appeared with Andrew alongside Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
Mother of three Americans, now 38 years old, is suing the royal, alleging that he sexually assaulted her three times when she was under 18 – something he has repeatedly denied.
In April, The Sun revealed photos of Epstein and Maxwell grinned in the White House with then-US President Bill Clinton in 1993.
Epstein committed suicide in prison in 2019 at the age of 66 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Maxwell, 59 years old, is facing trial later this month in New York, on charges of recruiting young girls for a former tycoon and engaging in abuse.
The Sunday Times said prosecutors plan to use a “blacklist” against her, arguing it is “convincing evidence of her guilt”.
And Epstein’s “scheduler” Adriana Ross is expected to testify against Maxwell, court documents reveal.
The 38-year-old former Polish model was one of four female “accomplices” who were granted immunity from prosecution as part of Epstein’s 2008 plea agreement.
