To try and limit the spread of COVID provided by the omicron variant, Illinois announced new mass booster and immunization clinics.
The Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency say they are establishing new one-day mass vaccination mobile booster clinics to help meet growing demand for boosters.
These clinics add to the 6,511 Community Partner Immunization events held to date with another 816 events scheduled through January 31. One location is at the SIUE Fitness Center in Edwardsville, Illinois. This vaccination room is open from 9am to 4pm at 35 circles. The vaccines being offered are Pfizer Adult, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson.
At these mass booster immunization facilities, all three vaccines will be made available to individuals who have a need for a booster shot. Like all state immunization clinics, any Illinois resident can get the vaccine and no appointment or medical insurance is required.
Another location will take place at Addison Trail High School from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 213 N. Lombard Road in Addison, IL on Sunday, January 9.
On January 16 at Spring Hill Shopping Center a vaccination clinic will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 1072 Spring Hill Mall, West Dundee.
The state of Illinois is more than doubling staffing and adding at least 100 people to vaccination sites in the area.
As part of this ongoing initiative, the State of Illinois is working with 12 local health departments to provide mass immunization clinics across Illinois.
