Il Divo star’s ex-wife, Carlos Marin, says goodbye for the last time to ‘love of my life’ at funeral after he died aged 53 from Covid

The ex-wife of IL DIVO star Carlos Marin said her final goodbye to “the love of her life” today with her family at his funeral in Madrid.
The grieving Geraldine Larrosa is also heartbroken to reveal that they had plans to get married again before singer died at the age of only 53 from Covid.
Geraldine and her family were among those in attendance and were photographed hugging loved ones outside a private memorial in Madrid where Carlos is resting in his coffin, wearing his trademark Armani suit She wears it at concerts around the world.
They were seen wearing protective masks and walking hand in hand to service.
The French-born singer was later photographed standing alone and resting his hand on his coffin in a poignant scene.
Outside the memorial, Geraldine, who was trying to hold back her tears, said: “We’ve been together for 30 years even though you travel and we’ll break up and get back together again.
“During the two years of the pandemic, we were together. We were going to get married and in the end it didn’t happen.”
Carlos will be cremated after a mass and his ashes will be deposited at Our Lady of Almudena Cemetery, the largest in Madrid and one of the largest in Western Europe.
This will join his fathers in a family plot that suits his last wishes.
Earlier, Geraldine, better known by her stage name Innocence, shared how she “sayed goodbye” to Carlos during an emotional FaceTime call before he was intubated at a hospital. in Manchester.
She said: “Before intubation, he said goodbye to me because he knew he was not going to make it and it was the saddest image of my life.
“He called me and told me he loved me like crazy and that I was the woman of his life and asked me to take care of his family.”
The baritone hasn’t had a romantic relationship with anyone since ending his 2009 marriage to his ex-wife.
Geraldine said in an emotional tribute on her Instagram last week alongside a 2006 Disneyland wedding photo of the couple: “We’ll repeat this moment.”
