PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – We woke up to colder temperatures than yesterday in the digits with some areas dealing with sub-zero chill winds.
We have clear skies this morning and much clearer roads than yesterday, but there will still be freezing points on any untreated surface – especially mailboxes and even even bushes and trees.
Finally, we’ll have a bit of a meltdown today with sunny skies and high temperatures returning to near-normal levels for over 30 years.
The overnight low dropped to a 20s low, which is when we should be at this time of year, but there could be a re-freeze with melting happening, so let’s wait. Notice the stains on the bus stop.
Tomorrow will be very similar as it looks warmer into our 40s before we drop back to our 20s on Tuesday.
Chances are there are a few blasts flying around during the week but no accumulation is expected.
Our next chance of light snow accumulation will be Thursday as a weak trough moves through the area, with rain/sleet likely.
