I wouldn’t bet on Arsenal finishing in the top four this season, says Man Utd legend Keane despite a good pre-season

ROY KEANE does not back Arsenal to finish in the top four despite a brilliant pre-season campaign.
The Gunners beat Sevilla 6-0 in the Emirates Cup on Saturday to round off a perfect July that also included a win over Chelsea.

Summer signing Gabriel Jesus was in fine form, scoring a hat-trick against Sevilla to take his pre-season goal tally to seven.
But Keane is not convinced Mikel Arteta’s side will qualify for the Champions League after they threw away fourth place last season.
Appearing in a Sky Bet debate, Keane said: “I couldn’t agree more with that I think [previous season] was her chance [to return to the Champions League].
“They messed up, they got into a great position with four, five games to go in the season you think they’re on pole and they messed up.
“They didn’t get over the line. They were poor, the Newcastle game was a real blow to them where they never showed up.
“The manager was quite critical of them after the game, some of the players were – seniors – so you wouldn’t bet on Arsenal finishing in the top four next season because of the other teams.
“Man United will be better than you thought. Tottenham is getting stronger, you don’t see it, big setback.”
The Gunners have shown promising form in recent weeks but Arteta is still planning further additions despite spending £117million so far.

One player who is reportedly of interest is Chelsea star Timo Werner. The Blues are said to be ready to part ways with the German this summer.
Werner is on a staggering £270,000 a week but the forward would reportedly be happy to take a pay cut in order to play more regularly.
