I work for Target – why we have to wear an “uncomfortable” uniform and it doesn’t even help the customers

A TARGET employee claims that her uniform is uncomfortable and of no use to customers.

The clerk, known only as Katherine, revealed that department store employees wear a red shirt and khaki pants.

She described the uniform as “uncomfortable,” adding that some Target stores allow their employees to wear jeans.

Katherine also revealed that customers can sometimes be confused with Target employees, according to Mental Floss.

She added, “You see people who dress similarly to Target workers and you walk up to people.”

Twitter users say they were mistaken for workers if they wore a red jacket or shirt in the store.

One wrote: “Note to self, don’t wear red polo to Target. (No, I don’t know where the press is on letters).”

Another tweeted, “Red shirt shopping at Target: Never again.”

While a third wrote: “I accidentally wore my red WGRZ coat to Target and long story short I’m assistant manager now.”

The Sun revealed staff reportedly have just 15 seconds to respond to a customer’s call for help.

Michael, who works in the Los Angeles area, revealed that employees could hurt their customer service results if they don’t comply.

He said shoppers can use the small call buttons or phones in the different departments of the store if they need help.

If Target employees do not meet the deadline, they will receive a second notification from the system.

If they miss it a third time, they could hurt their customer service results.

The Sun also shared that Target employees use their own secret language.

Many workers hate being forced to “cope,” Mental Floss reported.

It refers to an annoying situation where employees have a closing shift and then open the shop the next morning.

Ex-Target employee Adam told the outlet, “I’d (like to) do away with the intermediate shifts.”

And a “reshop” refers to merchandise that is out of place and needs to be returned to its place of origin.

Earlier this month, we reported that Target buyer Jonah Taylor of Pennsylvania found the love of his life during a conversation with a customer service rep.

He contacted the online support team when he learned that one of his documents had been damaged in the mail.

The 20-year-old messaged to see if he could get a replacement and met Pablo, who lives in California, in the online chat support room.

The Target rep promised to send a replacement record and said “bye” when the request was resolved.

Jonah then asked the customer service representative if he was single.

The couple have played a few games of skribbl and are planning their next date.
