WALMART stores cut prices on certain items and have two departments where you can find the best bargains.
The store has long been known for its rollbacks with its signature red labels.
In the May 17 first-quarter earnings conference call, it was revealed that more than 10,000 rollbacks are in effect at stores across the country.
According to John Furner, President and CEO of Walmart US, seasonal products and general merchandise are experiencing the most rollbacks right now.
“I’m feeling really good about the rollbacks and the right presentations,” Furner said on the conference call.
“We see in stores – I’ve been in stores across the country. The store is happy about the rollbacks and customers are responding.
“The execution was strong.”
Air purifiers, air fryers, grills, outdoor toys and gardening tools are among the current rollback items featured on the site.
Apparel rollbacks started earlier in 2022 and will continue into Q2.
A range of other items including kitchen appliances, sports gear, decor and more are also discounted on the store’s website.
As inflation continues to rise, Walmart’s rollbacks offer some relief to families who may be struggling with the cost of living.
Walmart President and CEO Doug McMillon said on the call that “the rate of inflation in groceries has taken more dollars out of GM [general merchandise].”
He also noted on the conference call that general merchandise inventories rose about 33 percent last quarter due to inflation.
More rollbacks are expected to help the company bounce back after first-quarter earnings were lower than executives had hoped.
Executives remain optimistic that the company’s earnings will recover in the coming quarters.
