An NHS worker won a £1million lottery jackpot just before breast cancer treatment was given the all-clear.
Maxine Lloyd, 50, had an X-ray to make sure the disease was beaten when she received a message saying the winnings were in her bank account.
Within two weeks, the occupational therapist at the hospital rang a bell to mark the end of her treatment.
Maxine von Kettering, Northants, said: “The timing was surreal.
“I’m here, I’m alive and we just had a cherry on the cake.
Maxine and partner Wayne Tilbury, 57, are thinking about buying a new home.
She said: “We looked at homes and homes before all of this and found one that we really liked – and it oddly came on the market the day we won.
