I went to the London Christmas market and spent £5 on skinny potatoes – Aunt Bessie’s would have been better

A CHRISTMAS MARKET has left a woman disappointed after paying £5 for fried potatoes which she said were not as good as Aunt Bessie’s.
TikTok user Sophiewhotravels posted about her trip to the London market and looked through what she paid for food and drink.

While she said the chai latte was “like brown water, don’t do it,” it was the £5 for half a dozen or so fried potatoes that irked her.
“That was a disappointment. Tasted a million times worse than Aunt Bessie so don’t waste your money,” she said, referring to the frozen roastery retailer.
In response to a comment about the £13 she paid for a Yorkshire pudding wrap, she said: “Those prices in London are literally ridiculous.”
It comes after customers slammed a Christmas market of £9 cheesy pasta and £14 posh lager as a rip-off.
Celebrating market-goers in Newcastle had empty wallets as a meal ended up costing more than a flight to Marbella, Spain.
Meanwhile, a Christmas market in Manchester has been dubbed the “worst in Britain” for charging £20 for a hot dog and a pint.
Elsewhere, families have been horrified to discover that one of Britain’s most famous Christmas markets is anything but child-friendly.
Visitors had expected alpine-style chalets selling cakes and trinkets at York’s festive county fair – but couldn’t believe their eyes when they got there.
Browsing the stalls, shoppers were confronted with dozens of explicit beer coasters and keychains emblazoned with profanity.
Raw coasters included those labeled “Gin wh**e,” “Coffee Sl*t,” and “C(l)ockwater.”
Others who have been flogged said “a smile a day keeps the w*** away”, “polite hint – put your damn drink here” and “real friends show me their boobs”.
