“Car towed while HOA parking ticket was out,” user Ladythatcher captioned the post.

“Hi guys, I may have a bit of a problem with predator towing,” the user said.

“Basically, we (tenants) lost our parking permit and reported the matter to the HOA. At this point, our car was in the HOA parking lot and received a citation.”

They explained that they had applied for and paid for a new parking permit.

“And while the passport was in the mail, a towing company towed the car,” the person pointed out.

“They are now charging $1,500 for the car and continue to charge more per day.”

Even though they informed the HOA, they still had their vehicle towed and were forced to pay fees.

They received a lot of feedback from the community about what they should do next in their situation.

“Release it from confiscation as soon as possible,” someone said.

“They charge a boatload per day. Then gather all the information and prosecute the towing company for illegal towing. You can forward it to the HOA, and then you can consider an attorney.”

Another person simply suggested, “Try a lawyer?”

“Sounds like the HOA is trying to make a quick buck,” one Redditor agreed.

“First, get the car back and threaten not to pay the monthly HOA fees until they apologize and compensate for any inconvenience caused to you.” [through].”
