I was charged £435 for a pint of beer while watching West Ham – it put me in my overdraft, says Footy fan

A FOOTIE fan was charged £435.60 for a pint in his club’s bar.
West Ham supporter Gary Ollard, 37, felt like having a beer ahead of Saturday’s game.

But instead of charging £6.60 for a lone Amstel, an IT error charged him £66.
The delay in receiving a refund meant Milton Keynes Hammers fan Bucks missed the first half of his side’s 2-0 win over Wolves at the London Stadium.
Gary, who often goes to matches with his girlfriend Zoe Johnston, wrote to the club saying: “I’ve never been so frustrated.
“This error has forced me to draw on my overdraft facility and I am incurring late payment fees.”

West Ham said it was out of their control as kiosks are operated by third-party operator Delaware North, who have been reached for comment.
Despite his money worries, Gary watched as the Hammers beat Wolves 2-0 on Saturday – the club’s first Premier League win since August.
