I was 25 years old with a rare cancer – but the doctors told me I only complained of hemorrhoids

A WOMEN in her 20s has a rare cancer, but several doctors she sees have dismissed her, saying it could be hemorrhoids.
Kasey Altman, 25, was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called rhabdomyolysis, which affects soft tissue.
But she only got a diagnosis because she refused to give an answer and saw several doctors until one of them finally agreed to do some tests on her.
Altman told Caters News Agency that doctors initially fired her because she was young and healthy.
“I’m perfectly healthy, exercising every day, eating right,” she told the magazine.
“I’m a former college athlete so I take my health very seriously. After that, I had lumps on my body, near my anus, and no one listened to me because I was young, strong and healthy. looks good..”
She explained that the first doctor she saw refused to examine her.
“She just refused to look at it. I walked in and said, ‘This is what I think is a tumor on my body,'” Altman explained.
“She kicked me out within two minutes and sent me on the street with a suppository, which will help with hemorrhoids.”
The third doctor she met, an obstetrician and gynecologist, also didn’t believe it was anything serious, but agreed to do some tests after Altman pushed back.
“I started to get emotional because no one heard me, and this is the third time that’s happened in three weeks,” she said.
“She was reluctant but asked for a CT scan, which later led to my diagnosis. So I’m grateful for that but it’s still considered an issue for her to take me seriously. “
DIAGNOSTIC STAGE 4
Altman’s diagnosis was stage 4, meaning the cancer had spread to other parts of the body.
Altman initially underwent chemotherapy to treat his disease, only to have it relapse last October.
However, she says she’s “pursuing every option under the sun” when it comes to treatment, and she was brought to TikTok to share her own health advocacy story.
She found that her experience of being rejected by my doctor was one that many of her 35,000 followers expressed they could relate to.
“Honestly I didn’t know until I posted on TikTok how many people had the same story as me,” she said.
