The world’s fattest woman at 700 pounds is now unrecognizable after losing two-thirds of her body weight.
Christina Phillips underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2014 at the age of 22 and changed her life completely.
Phillips, from Mississippi, USA, weighed well over 600 pounds when she first appeared on the TV series My 600-lb Life in 2012.
She recalled going from room to room in her house and being out of breath.
“I’m trapped in this body that I don’t want to be in,” she told producers, adding that she hadn’t left the house in two years.
She blamed her mother and husband for her weight problems, which she said caused her to overeat and often bought her fast-food meals.
Eventually she sought the help of weight loss surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, who told her she needed to lose weight before undergoing gastric bypass surgery.
With better diet, exercise and surgery, Phillips lost an impressive 500 pounds.
Phillips is now showing off her slim 185-pound frame in social media posts, looking completely unrecognizable.
Despite the cheerful appearance, Phillips has struggled with a number of different mental health issues since shedding the pounds.
According to The List, she has battled a crippling fear of putting her weight back on and fears she would be housebound again, but has continued to seek therapy.
“Lately, I tend to freak out every time I see the scale go up, and I stop eating for a few days,” she said.
“And I don’t know how to change my feelings.”
She also said that her husband, Zach, wasn’t entirely supportive of her transformation, and their couple eventually broke up.
“It became clear that I was becoming independent [from Zach] wouldn’t work for him,” she said.
The weight loss champion’s life has improved since then, and she says she’s never been happier.
“I can do so much more now. It’s pretty awesome,” she said.
“Before, I couldn’t walk eight feet without feeling like I was going to die. Now I could pretty much do anything I put my mind to.”
She’s since welcomed a new addition to the Phillips family: a son named Ethan, and she has another on the way.
She regularly shared on Facebook, saying, “My 2nd baby will be here in September.”
