“I thought he was going this way”

HARRY KANE claims England training with Aaron Ramsdale helped him outsmart the Arsenal keeper in Tottenham’s crucial victory spree.

Two-goal hero Kane sent Ramsdale the wrong way for his first penalty as Spurs won 3-0 and were just a point behind fourth-placed Gunners.

Rob Holding’s red card for two bookings made it easy for Tottenham before Son Heung-min scored a third goal in the 47th minute.

And Three Lions skipper Kane believes his inside knowledge of Ramsdale gave him the edge.

Kane explained, “I haven’t walked that side in a while.

“My normal side is on my left but I train in training all week and I like to feel where I feel good and feel better on the day.

“I took a few against Aaron for England in training and thought he was going to leave like that.”

Tottenham’s triumph puts enormous pressure on Arsenal with two games to go.

But the Gunners appear to have two tougher games – away to Newcastle before taking on Everton at the Emirates.

Kane told Sky Sports: “I’m proud of the boys. If they had won they would have secured the Champions League so we were under pressure from our home fans but we performed well.

We started up front, created chances and controlled in the second half.

“Whenever you win a derby it’s always nice. Two games left. We have to focus on that now but it was a special night here.”

“We can only control our games. We did our job tonight. We won’t roll over.

“Tonight was special but our ultimate goal is to finish fourth and we still have a lot to do.”

Livewire colleague Son said: “It means a lot and we can close the gap. This game tasted really good.”
