I paid $6 for a purse at Goodwill – to the ‘average eye’ it doesn’t look like much but the brand makes it thousands

A lucky buyer has found a handbag that could be worth thousands of dollars for just a few dollars.

TikTok creator Tamala Renee recently shared a brown purse she bought for $6 at her local Goodwill outlet on her channel @itstamalarenee.

In the video, Tamala claimed that the handbag doesn’t look particularly extraordinary to the average eye.

Still, she was shocked by what she found when she opened the main door.

The inside of the handbag featured the writing ‘Celine’ which, if authentic, makes it a handbag from the super luxury brand Celine.

Celine purses and handbags almost exclusively sell for more than $1,000, with some selling for $5,000 or more.

Tamala admitted she had to get the bag authenticated before she could properly celebrate.

But one fan on her channel was sure she had scored a big hit.

“It’s a Céline Teen Classic bag! It retails for between $3,700 and $4,300!! Some people are lucky!! Great find!” enthused the follower on her page.

Tamala said she doesn’t resell her used treasure, but another fan suggested that maybe that should change if it’s an authentic Celine bag.

“This would be my first day of resale,” said the fan.

Thrifty

While Tamala said she doesn’t want to resell her thrift results for profit, many thrift professionals do just that on a regular basis.

Some even make it a full-time job.

While some simply turn over their rough diamonds, others repair formerly valuable antiques.

A saver made a profit of $385 by renovating and selling an old humidor he found abandoned on the side of the road.

In another video, he bought an antique ticket booth for $100 and sold it for $500.

He made both sales on the Facebook Marketplace.

And Tamala is far from the only shopper finding potentially expensive handbags at Goodwill.

Another TikTok creator also bought a potentially $9,000 wallet for just $6.

Some goodwill buyers even find and flip large pieces of furniture.
