I offered to fight Duncan Ferguson but immediately regretted it when he was shirtless waiting for me in the tunnel

DUNCAN FERGUSON once waited topless in the tunnel for Jimmy Bullard after Bullard cheekily offered to fight him.
The former Everton hardman was sent off against Wigan in 2006 when he met Paul Scharner.
Bullard became involved in the incident, apparently angering the Scotland striker even more.
The Soccer AM presenter told it talkSPORT: “David Moyes sent Ferguson on with ten minutes to go. It’s a corner, it’s cleared and all I hear is our centre-back on the deck.”
“Duncan Ferguson runs out smiling and growling and I think he obviously slapped him.”
“So I look around and I see Lee McCullough is a Scottish boy on our team and James McFadden is a Scottish boy on their team and I’m like, ‘Is he okay?’
“Is Dunc alright because his eyes are gone, he’s ready for tears?”
“I grab him and have to be a little careful.
“Remember he was on the pitch for five or 10 minutes – straight red.” [card].
“As he walks away, all I’m like is, ‘See you in the tunnel, Dunc, see you in the tunnel.'”

“When I said it, Lee McCullough said, ‘I wouldn’t have done that.'”
“He [Ferguson] says, “No problem, little man.” So he waits shirtless in the tunnel.
“I’ve got ten minutes to play and I look over and McCullough’s gone ‘Look at the tunnel’.”
“I look over and say ‘Oh no’.
“The final whistle blew, I’m still giving a standing ovation, that’s all that’s left.” [in the stadium] is a dove and a crispy packet. I think I don’t want to go in.
“He grabs my neck and lifts me up and gives it to me right and all the guys ran in and left me.”
“But what people don’t know about that story is that two weeks later I went to the races at Goodwood, the great Dunc was there.”

“The only person I didn’t want to see. My heart shot up to my throat. Then all the guys grabbed me and put me in front of him.
“He said ‘Oh don’t worry’ with a big cigar in his mouth and a bottle of champagne. He was Pukka.
