I made $90,000 in profit in one year from my side hustle at Amazon, now I travel the world – and so can you

WORKING from home has a different meaning for an Amazon seller who travels the world while running her business.
Bryn Wright, now 27, wasn’t satisfied with her jobs as a waitress, so she looked for side hustles to supplement her income.

While she worked two jobs, she felt stuck and was “knocking out pennies” to do things she really enjoyed, she told Insider.
After a short break for fun, she would return to the cycle of long and hard work, just for a brief period of relief and relaxation.
She felt discouraged with her current lifestyle and although she wanted to be her own boss, she worried that without a college degree she would not be able to run her own business.
She came up with the idea of selling used books on Amazon and although she wasn’t sure if it would bring the income she wanted, she went along with it.

Set up store
After creating an Amazon seller account, Bryn got to work.
She traveled the US for a year buying used books to sell on Amazon.
Bryn has shipped her inventory to an Amazon warehouse, which fulfills all orders she receives.
“The game plan was to work hard for a few months to fill up my inventory and then travel while I make money from it,” she said.
Last year she made $140,000 in sales and nearly $90,000 in profits.
Bryn has a second Amazon bookstore and has been able to find other ways to make money in the drop-shipping business — where a business owner runs out of stock.
be your own boss
As long as she has an internet connection, Bryn can work from anywhere.
She is constantly traveling and exploring new places while running her business.
“I work hard – it’s not all lounging and relaxing, but I’m able to set my own goals for what I want in life.”
It’s up to her to set her schedule, which comes in handy during power outages or places with slow WiFi.
She’s been to places like Mexico, Colombia and Turkey, and her next stop is Bali.
A popular business model
Entrepreneur Stephen Raiken, who runs a similar Amazon business, was able to make $17,000 in a month and help his mother take early retirement.
Recently, Stephen, who describes himself as a full-time reseller, highlighted how he did it in a video on his TikTok channel.
He scans books in thrift stores and other places to see how much they’re worth.
“Most people think they’re outdated and junk, so they give them away for free or pennies at a thrift store.” I sell a lot of books for $20, $30, $40, [and] $50.”
Stephen said you need to create an Amazon seller account.
While it is free to sign up, the subsequent cost depends on the sales plan you choose.
For example, individuals are charged 99 cents for each item sold, while Amazon says a professional plan has a monthly fee of $39.99, regardless of the number of items sold.
Amazon also charges a referral fee for each sale, which varies by product.
After that you can start selling.
“Get out there and just start scanning all the books,” Stephen said.
If you want to try it, read the instructions on the Amazon website.
Whether you have a side hustle on top of a full-time job or juggle multiple part-time jobs, remember that your income is taxable.
