I love my lightning tattoo…until people compare it to the supreme SS symbol

One ink lover told how their favorite tattoo backfired – making the rest of us think they were Nazis.
The unfortunate scribble is meant to be like a cowboy riding a horse with a bolt of lightning overhead.
But poor tattoo recipients said they consistently received the brand name compared to similar inks from the White Supremacist gang, the Aryan Brotherhood.
In a Reddit discussion about pity inkThe user shared a photo of the tattoo in question and noted the poor reception it had.
They said it was “often mistaken for a white supreme tattoo” as they shared in their misfortune.
Users were quick to join the discussion about alleged links the tattoo might have.
One user noted how gang members from the Ayran Brotherhood referred to lightning images as “lightning bolts” as they suggested a possible reason for the poor reception.
But another user said the bolts on the Ayran Brotherhood tattoo are actually “the letter S”.
They note that this is a reference to the evil secret police unit operating in Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler, The SS (Schutzstaffel).
But others were more sympathetic to the description, with one noting: “What’s a white supremacist about a cowboy holding a lightning bolt?”
The tattoo performed by the Aryan Brotherhood is called the Brotherhood Forever ink.
According to the Anti-Defamation League, which holds a database of gang tattoos, the symbol is a racist prison gang based in Tennessee.
Prison officials in the US say it is also known as the Tennessee Aryan Brotherhood.
Its symbolism includes its name above and below the SS lightning bolt.
These can sometimes appear inside an Iron Cross or shield icon.
