A man has revealed the incredible secrets of his weight loss journey after dropping a giant 19 stone.

Paul Walker felt embarrassed about his size and decided to do something about it when he joined his local Slimming World group.

Hailing from Carluke, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, Paul revealed the first moments he joined the group because he feared he would face ridicule for even trying to lose weight.

He told Lanarkshire Live: “Walking through those doors was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

“I was so embarrassed about my size and scared that I might be the biggest one there.

“However, I don’t need to worry, everyone there is very friendly, especially my consultant.

“I was relieved to learn that my weight was a secret – I was meant to tell everyone how much I weighed.

“Making my commitment to join the group and start my weight loss journey was a big step for me – the group gave me the confidence and boost I needed.

“Since then, I’ve had a lot of friends on the team and honestly I don’t think I would be able to do it without their support every week.

“They helped me with recipes and tips and if I got stuck, they were always there to remind me why I wanted to lose weight in the first place and how far I have come since the first step. threshold.”

Together with his team and counselor, Paul was able to find the support he needed to change lifelong bad habits.

However, in March 2020, the pandemic meant that Paul could no longer meet face-to-face with the group as he was concerned that all his good work could be undone.

“It was a terrible feeling,” Paul said.

“My confidence has taken a hit. I’ve felt so strongly in the new healthy habit I’ve created – a habit that will now have to adapt and change.”

But to his own astonishment, Paul quickly realized that he could continue his weight loss journey alone – using all the practical changes and personal skills he had learned from other people. his advisor.

And with the continued support of his online fitness team, he continues to stay focused on his goals despite the situation that wraps around him.

By 2021, Paul was awarded an award by the company for his hard work, having succeeded with 16 goals.

Later that year, he recorded the loss of 3 more stones and said that he is now extremely happy with his body and mental state.

Paul added: “Nothing worries me anymore.

“I know I can achieve anything I set my mind to and more importantly, I have an army of cheerleaders right by my side when I need them.”
