I live like a gender-flexible ‘demon’ doll

One MAKE-UP lover told how they lived like a “transgender demon doll” after they were bullied at school.
Vlad Von Kitsch, from Brighton, who never goes anywhere without demonic horns, describes their aesthetic as “an ancient vampire demon, retreating in a cast doll vessel. “
The 26-year-old, who identifies as non-binary, said they created their look after being made to feel like a monster as a child.
They said Really: “Growing up and being transgender, you learn from an early age that the world sees you as a threat.
“Being told that you were a monster all your life, I finally accepted my monstrosity and became the demon I always wanted to be.
“At school, I was picked a lot because of my weirdness. I don’t have many friends at the end of the school year.
“Being able to treat my body like a cloth is like my armor.”
Since regaining their monster identities, Vlad never spent less than three hours on them.
They said: “The longest I’ve seen is about nine hours.
“I draw inspiration from clowns, corpse paint and historical fashion. I make different people.
“The blood makes every outfit ten times cuter.”
But despite standing up to their childhood bullies by staying true to themselves – Vlad still faces abuse from strangers.
They explained: “I was harassed a lot on the street. Sometimes minor physical attacks.
“People try to track me home and things like that.
“But I won’t stop. I use fashion as a kind of coping mechanism. I feel a lot more confident when I look.”
They added: “My interactions with the children are really endearing because they think I am a mythical creature.
“I may look scary, but inside I am quite gentle and harmless.”
