I keep finding gnomes in our garden – a mysterious person puts them there overnight

A Baffled Couple isn’t just a gnome – as the ornaments keep popping up in their front yard.

Six are left over the past 18 months.

The latest – an LGBTQ+ Pride figure – was three weeks ago while Christine and Stephen Lock were on holiday.

Christine, 66, said: “They seem to be placed overnight and I have no idea who is doing that.

“Everyone I’ve asked has denied it – family, friends, neighbors – it’s bizarre.

“They are nice, but I worry that I’ll wake up one morning and the garden will be overcast.

“They looked lonely, so I bought them a little decorative cabbage-shaped house for them to talk in.”

Husband Stephen, 72, Mayor of South Molton, Devon, said they found the latest gnome gift after a break on the Isle of Wight.

He said, “We came home and we found the Pride gnome and we were like, ‘Who knew we were there?’

“It’s pretty interesting to come out in the morning and discover a new gnome and just have no idea where those things came from.

“Christine accused me of putting her there but I’m way too tight.”
