‘I have no idea what he’s thinking!’ – Man Utd legend Roy Keane blasts Wout Weghorst after missing sitter against Forest
ROY KEANE faced Wout Weghorst after missing a sitter against Nottingham Forest.
The striker, who scored in last week’s first leg, hit the post when it seemed easier to score.
Casemiro played a brilliant cross but loanee Weghorst headed the post to deny Manchester United an opener.
Keane was shocked by the miss and criticized the Dutchman at half-time.
He said on Sky Sports: “He has to score, I don’t know what he was thinking. He was signed because of his flying skills.”
Expert Michael Dawson agreed with his colleague, adding that the 6ft 6 forward “had to score.”
BBC pundit Richard McFadden was more sympathetic to the striker being inches from his first goal at Old Trafford.
He said: “Weghorst was on the move, it’s a great throw-in and he’s really good at directing the header. He’s unlucky to hit the post.”
Weghorst’s header was United’s best chance of an uninspired first half.
Visitors Forest had the better game, the Red Devils happily defended their 3-0 lead.

Weghorst scored once in his first four United games after being loaned from Burnley.
But Erik ten Hag is hoping for a better return after the club paid Besiktas £2.5million to call in the striker’s loan at the Turkish club.
