Chelsea banned supporter Colin Wing for life after concluding he used “racially offensive language and threatening and aggressive behavior” towards Sterling at Stamford Bridge in 2018.

Former Three Lions international Stan Collymore has suggested it would be a “big anti-racism statement” if Sterling sat down with Wing in the film to discuss how that day’s events affected him and his family to have.

When asked if he would be willing to do so, the ex-City and Liverpool striker replied: “I have no hatred or malice towards individuals.

“It’s something I could do right here, now, or tomorrow.

“That’s not an issue. I think my main focus is to move away from the racist thing and focus more on nurturing and nurturing the youth as I am growing up.

“Give them a map of what lies ahead.”

Wing insisted at the time that he called Sterling a “manc c***,” not a “black c***,” and prosecutors dropped the case against him over inconclusive evidence.

However, Chelsea issued Wing a lifetime ban after conducting their own investigation, which included hiring two expert lipreaders.

Five other fans were also banned for between one and two years for their behavior during the game against City on 8 December 2018 and have agreed to attend reconnaissance courses.

Asked if he thought of the incident when deciding to join Chelsea, Sterling said: “No, that’s the first time I’ve even remembered it.

“It wasn’t a thing that came to my mind at all.

“I cannot allow an incident by individuals to change my perception of the club.”

Sterling spoke out after the incident, claiming his reaction at the time was to laugh because he “didn’t expect anything better” and claimed sections of the media had “incited racism” with their portrayals of young black players.

His statement was seen as a turning point in the fight against bigotry, giving other players a chance to speak out and giving the press a break to consider the coverage.

Reflecting on his reaction to the incident and his later role as one of the game’s most prominent voices against racism, Sterling said: “I think that conversation opened the door for me personally in the sense that it showed me what my life was about.” true goal is something other than soccer.

“Of course, football is my main goal and talent, but the other thing that brings me the most joy is helping people.

“After that incident, I moved away from the racist side and am more focused on helping and empowering young black people.”
