A mother filming her child enjoying a cuppa has caused a lot of controversy on TikTok, with many warning against giving hot drinks to young children, while others defended her decision.

Leanne King from County Durham posted the clip TikTok, showing her son sipping a beer from a children’s mug.

The good guy showed interest and when asked what he was drinking, he replied with “Teacup”.

The video has racked up nearly two million views and left many divided over giving tea to toddlers.

Many commenters defended the mother’s choice, but others were unconcerned with the opinion.

The video has 66.8k likes, 1,392 comments and 3,908 shares.

Leanne said to Femur that her son doesn’t drink tea very often, but enjoys it as a treat from time to time.

She said: ‘I know my son is cared for, he has absolutely no developmental problems and is certainly not addicted to caffeine or tea.

“He very rarely drinks tea but that video is when he was about 1.5 years old.

“There are so many other things I could give him but I think no matter what, someone will comment on anything you do online.”

Among the critics, one wrote: “Tea is as bad as coffee, it’s full of caffeine which is harmful to babies.”

Another said: “I don’t think babies should drink coffee tea.”

However, there are many TikTok users who don’t see any problem giving their toddler tea.

One said: “What a guy. There’s nothing wrong with him drinking beer… he’s enjoying it, that’s all that matters. ”

Meanwhile, I painted my kids jet-black brows at a fancy dress party… a week later, I still can’t get them off.

Also, I work in the NICU – these are the weirdest baby names I’ve heard in the delivery room.

As well as this, I pierced my son’s ear – trolls say it’s cruel, but I don’t care.
